the mission of this blog is to entertain and educate you; to dialogue and engage with you; to create a community of people who are interested in “keepin’ it real.” to me, this means eating real food (mostly), telling the truth (always), laughing (as much as possible), and opening up about life’s struggles and how we manage them, no matter how ungracefully, past or present. what does “keepin’ it real” mean to you?
making a lifestyle change is hard and requires discipline, but also reaps wonderful rewards and benefits. like art, adding restrictions or limitations spurs creativity and inventiveness.
i’ll be linking to my show aired once a week on YouTube where you can watch a video where i’ll tell you a funny story (i think it’s funny at least) and show you how to cook a tasty gluten-lactose-sugar free meal.
on the real tip though, healthy eating and living is about what you do most of the time, not some of it. in order to maintain any kind of discipline it’s crucial to build in flexibility and occasional lapses. the recipes and dishes i feature on the show will reflect this flexibility. in my experience, this has helped me sustain a restricted diet in a gluten-lactose-sugar saturated culture.
i’m excited about this project and a little nervous too. being “public” on the internet has been a long-standing phobia of mine. in the interest of growth, i’m taking the leap.
here’s to leaping into the unknown!
